Everyday Coffee in the City - Peet's Coffee and Tea's Baridi Blend

Peets Coffee - Baridi Blend bw
For this week, while Mijo is on a trip abroad, I got creative and decided to try a couple of new coffee blends. My first in the list was called Baridi Blend by Peet's Coffee.

I've been told that this coffee is made for cold brewing but I love it brewed hot. This medium roast coffee is flavorful.

Everyday Coffee in the City - Chit's Coffee

Chit's Coffee - Coffee Tasting bag bw
I just came back from a trip to the Philippines and my sister gave me a good Philippine made coffee as a souvenir called Chit's Coffee.

I had extra time yesterday so I did a little experiment. I did a coffee side by side tasting at home using this coffee as drip, pour over, french press and espresso. I had so much fun!

Everyday Coffee in the City - Philippine Civet Coffee

Philippines Civet Coffee - Coffee beans bwOne of the goodies I brought back from my latest trip to the Philippines was a small box of Philippine Civet Coffee. I only bought one box for sampling because it is quite pricey.

We have started sampling this coffee this week.  This coffee is not as earthy and smoked flavored as the other Philippine coffee I've sampled before. It is not as bitter as the other coffee I usually drink.

Everyday Coffee in the City - Cafe Amadeo Pahimis blend

Cafe Amadeo - Pahimis BlendThis week, we are sampling a new bag of coffee called Pahimis Blend by Cafe Amadeo. This blend is from the province of Cavite in the Philippines.  My friend from highschool Lira introduced me to Cafe Amadeo's Pahimis blend years ago when she gave me a bag for Christmas.

I saw this bag of coffee at a supermarket during my vacation in the Philippines last November, so I decided I'll bring one back to the States.

Everyday Coffee in the City - San Francisco Bay Rainforest Blend

Everyday Coffee - San Francisco Bay Rainforest BlendThis week, we have started sampling a new bag of coffee called San Francisco Bay Certified Organic Rainforest blend. You probably haven't heard of this brand unless you live in San Francisco and shop at Costco.

Having bought bags of coffee beans from local coffee houses and roasting companies, I was debating whether to get this coffee for use at home. Is there anything to romanticize about this coffee brand that people buy in bulk?  The company is local and we needed coffee immediately so we bought it. Guess what? This coffee maybe unassumming and comes in bulk but it packs with great flavor! I am glad we decided to get it.

Everyday Coffee in the City - Peet's Coffee and Tea's Kona JR Reserve

Coffee in the City - Peets Kona ReserveOnce in a while, I like to splurge on my coffee. To splurge on coffee means to pay more than the usual price per bag of coffee. So last payday I dropped by a Peet's Coffee chain and picked up a Kona JR Reserve Blend.  Kona, afterall, is one of my favorite coffees.

It is true what they say - you get what you pay for.  This coffee may be expensive but this blend is so delicious it is probably one of the best coffees out there!
