It was a Friday morning and I didn't have to be in the office that morning. Mijo and I decided to pay this cute bakery tucked inside the Castro neighborhood called Le Marais Bakery.
As always, our breakfast was good, relaxing and dreamy.
Mijo and I have been in this bakery twice before and we were here in October last year. As soon as I step inside the restaurant, I felt like I was transported somewhere in Paris. The way the morning sunshine creates this evocative scene is just so romantic.
Classic French music was being played in the background, the interior is painted with different hues of light colors, lots of natural lighting, small colorful flowers accessorize the white marble tables, and the crowd silently conversing.
Since we've been here before, we sort of knew what to get. We started with a plain croissant which we paired with their delicious coffee. I didn't ask what kind of coffee they serve but it tastes with a hint of acidity much like a Central American coffee.
We decided to order this chicken sausage with scrambled eggs and salad. I forgot we ordered this before but it looked slightly different. The scrambled eggs is smooth and fluffy. It went well with the savory chicken sausage.
We also shared this moist French toast that went really well with the coffee.
Here are some of the photos that I took the last two times we were here at Le Marais Bakery. I love their attention to detail. I wonder if French people living in the Bay Area come here when they miss home?
Simple wall displaying a select wines.
The pastry selection is good too. My next goal is to try each one of them.
Here's what the chicken sausage and eggs that we ordered last year.
More pastries...
The first time we went to this place, we just ordered a sweet and a savory scone with coffee.
Le Marais Bakery is located on 18th St. in San Francisco's Castro District.
