Everyday Wine in the City - Merryvale 2010 Pinot Noir Stanly Ranch Estate Carneros

Merryvale 2010 Pinot Noir - labelA year ago, Mijo and I made it to the tasting cellars of  Merryvale Vineyards and brought home two bottles of Pinot Noir and a bottle of Carbernet Sauvignon. We opened a Pinot Noir two months afterward.

This week, we are sampling the second bottle of Pinot Noir from that visit. We knew we were going to love this bottle and we paired it with home cooked meals on Friday and Sunday.

Brunch in the City - Chef Michael Chiarello's Coqueta

Coqueta - SignDinah, Karen and I finally went to Coqueta. We had originally planned to go there a year ago but the date changed and then it was cancelled. On our third try, it finally happened. Third time's the charm!

We were celebrating Karen's birthday this time. The weather nice, the company great and our dining experience at Coqueta wonderful! Happy Birthday Karen!

Arts at the Airport - Galleries and Wall Art at San Francisco International Airport (SFO)

SFO- MuseumDuring my recent travel abroad, I had extra time between check-in and boarding time so I was able to do what I've always wanted to do at San Francisco International airport.

That is, to check out the airport gallery and art displays dotting the Main Hall departure area. What I discovered is neat and tasteful  collection of wall art and artifacts.

Opera in the City - Show Boat

SF Opera Showboat - FacadeThe last time Mijo and I went to see a performance at the Opera was in 2010 and it was Madama Butterfly. It has been long overdue for us to see a performance by the San Francisco Opera.

We saw a lot of pictures and ads about SF Opera's latest production called Show Boat. Mijo and I checked it out and we both enjoyed it. It was a different kind of opera but it was very entertaining.

Baseball in the City - The San Francisco Giants vs. Colorado Rockies

SF Giants - AT&T Park nightI love my employer. After almost two years that I haven't gotten tickets to a baseball game, the gods of free tickets granted my wish and allowed me another chance to two really good tickets.

The last time we were at AT&T, we were in the Premium Lower Box. This time it got better. We were in the Premium Field Club. Just two rows directly behind the Giants dugout!
