Everyday Coffee in the City - Cafe Amadeo Pahimis blend

Cafe Amadeo - Pahimis BlendThis week, we are sampling a new bag of coffee called Pahimis Blend by Cafe Amadeo. This blend is from the province of Cavite in the Philippines.  My friend from highschool Lira introduced me to Cafe Amadeo's Pahimis blend years ago when she gave me a bag for Christmas.

I saw this bag of coffee at a supermarket during my vacation in the Philippines last November, so I decided I'll bring one back to the States.

Everyday Hot Chocolate in the City - Sonoma-Williams Salted Caramel Hot Chocolate

Salted Caramel Hot Choco - Williams Sonoma brandIt is still winter in Northern California and it has been colder than usual. We've been having freezing temperatures at night and mornings and we are just in the middle of January.

As a consolation, this weather brings out the creative thinking out of me to keep ourselves warm. When I think of winter, a cup of hot chocolate comes to mind.

Everyday Wine in the City - Clos Du Val 2006 Cabernet Sauvignon

Clos Du Val - Cabernet Sauvignon 2006Mijo and I are back to our normal routine after our Thailand and Philippine vacation and after the Christmas Holiday. We also thought of starting the New Year with a good wine so we decided to open one of the wines we store in our mini cellar downstairs.

We opened a wine that we bought during one of our regular trips to Napa - Clos Du Val 2006 Cabernet Sauvignon.  Que rico!

Cafe in the City - Cafe XO on Church St.

San Francisco Railway Museum - SignageWe've been wanting to go to Cafe XO on Church St. but somehow either we forget or we haven't found time. We always pass by this cafe whenever we go to Pomelo  or Toast for breakfast and we always see a line of people waiting to order coffee at this cafe.

Before the New Year's, we decided to give this coffee place a try and we liked it!

Museum in the City- The San Francisco Railway Museum and Giftshop

San Francisco Railway Museum - SignageI ran a couple of errands on Saturday and Mijo and I were going to meet for lunch right after I finish. I was around the Ferry Building plaza when Mijo called to let me know he was running late. Since I was in the area and I needed to kill time, I decided to step inside the San Francisco Railway Museum.

The admission to this museum is free of charge and it doubles as a gift shop. My visiting the place was also timely because MUNI just celebrated its 100th year.

Cafe in the City - Pebble's Cafe in Glen Park

Pebbles Cafe - Kern St It is time to feature another one of my favorite cafes in the city. This cafe is called Pebbles Cafe in San Francisco's Glen Park neighborhood. It is very close to the Glen Park BART station so if you take BART to work, this cafe is worth a stop in the morning.

This is where we Mijo and I go to share a nice warm and toasted bagel and coffee whenever we have time to spare before we go to work. The service is warm and super friendly.

Basketball across the Bay - The Golden State Warriors

Golden State Warriors - TicketsBefore we went on vacation to Asia, we got another set of tickets in the office. Not baseball. Not football. This time, it is basketball. The tickets were Concourse Suite tickets at the Oracle Arena to the Golden State Warriors game against the Cleveland Cavaliers. Before the game day, I didn't have an idea what Concourse Suite tickets were.

I have not seen a live NBA game before so Mijo and I were so excited to be at the game. The Warriors also won that night but that was not the only treat. We discovered an even better treat regarding these tickets. Clue - Concourse Suite.

Everyday Wine in the City - Veuve Clicquot Brut non-vintage

Veuve Clicqout Brut - New YearFor this weekend, we opened our last bottle of this Veuve Clicquot champagne. It was one of the three bottles we set aside for the New Year countdown. Four friends came over to our house on New Year's Eve and we only finished a little over a  bottle. I quickly resealed the unfinished second bottle for later.

Mijo quickly put together a delicious steamed mussels as our late lunch and we decided to use the remaining champagne and opened the third bottle for pairing.
