Musical in the City - Monty Python's SPAMALOT

Spamalot - After the ShowMijo and I saw the musical Spamalot last week and it is probably the funniest musical we've seen since Avenue Q. Though I don't humm any of their songs the way I sometimes do from the more popular and memorable musicals, I think Spamalot is very entertaining.

There was a time when the crowd couldn't stop laughing because the scene was too funny. This is my kind of show!

Everyday Wine in the City - Ormanni Chianti Classico

Everyday Wine - Ormanni Chianti ClassicoLast week, we opened one of the bottles of wine that we brought with us from our trip to Florence. I guess, we were too excited to open a bottle because it has only been two weeks since we came back from Italy. We got this bottle from a wine bar on Via Borgo San Lorenzo called Borgovino. It was super delicious so we thought of bringing a bottle with us to the States.

Almond Croissants in the City - Tartine, La Boulange & Destination Baking Co

Tartine - Frangipane CroissantsI just learned today that California produces 80% of the world's almonds. Wow!  That is a lot of almonds! I suddenly thought of my favorite fragrant flaky bread - the almond croissant. Since most of the almonds come from this state, could this be the reason why there are a lot of bakeries in the city that make very good almond croissants? For that matter, could the city be the almond croissant capital of the world? Almond croissant capital or not, I know that the almond croissants here are good and I have a short list of favorites.

Play in the City - Maple and Vine

Play in the City - Maple and Vine posterWe saw the play Maple and Vine at the American Conservatory Theatre on Wednesday night. This is so not us since we don't usually go out during the week (though we generally stay out late starting Thursday). We made an exception because of a good ticket deal plus it was OUT Night at A.C.T. right after the performance.

Anyway, the play has an interesting subject, it was pretty well acted and it contains a good dose of drama and comedy. We totally enjoyed it!

Cocktails in the City - Seasons Bar and Lounge at The Four Seasons Hotel

The good thing about living in the city is the easy access to places serving good mixed drinks at the same time having good vibe.

Cocktail in the City - Lychee MartiniI've been wanting to try out the happy hour outside of our usual venues in the Castro, Mission and West Portal. Though I've had drinks at the Fifth Floor, St. Francis and the Hilton and other places, I have not been paying much attention on what I drink. So for the first time, I'll be posting my cocktails in San Francisco. Let me share you my good experience at the Seasons Bar and Lounge at The Four Seasons Hotel on Market St.
