We've preview tasted this wine a year and half ago so we knew we will like this wine. We paired them with tasty appetizers and light Thai dishes. The wine was delicious!
The past week, we've opened a bottle of 2012 Pinot Noir Deep End Blend by Navarro Vineyards. This bottle is one of the three bottles that came a couple of months ago. We ordered them during a preview tasting of their future releases when we went to Navarro Vineyards on a wine tasting in 2013.
So after a year and a half of waiting, we finally got the box of three bottles of their 2012 Pinot Noir Deep End Blend.
For the pairing, we bought some appetizers from our local Canyon Market. The crackers were garlic and thyme crackers by Firehook. The goat cheese was by Cypress Grove Chèvre Herbs de Humboldt. For protein, we had Curried Chicken Wings also from Canyon Market.
It is a classic Pinot Noir with cherry and plum aroma.
The herby flavors of the crackers and the goat cheese brought out the fruit flavors of the Pinot Noir.
The next couple of days, we paired it with a Larb salad and vegetarian crispy rolls from Osha Thai. I chose light and not too spicy dishes because I was going to pair them with the Pinot. I didn't use the dipping sauce at all because I was afraid that the sweet taste of the sauce will alter my taste buds.
The light flavors of these Thai dishes paired well with the juicy Pinot Noir.
