It is the Holidays once again and the city is all dressed up for the occasion. For me, Christmastime is truly the most wonderful time of the year.
I took photos of the Christmas trees, holiday lights, displays, decorations, and happy locals around town. Enjoy!
This is the Christmas Tree in Union Square. I took this photo during the Christmas tree lighting ceremony on Friday after Thanksgiving.
Here the pano version.
Here are more views of the scene in Union Square. I equally love seeing it during the day and at night.
Near Union Square, the city closed a couple of blocks to motorists, covered the pavement with green carpet and called the area Winter Walk. I love just hanging out in the area during the day and at night. Carolers serenade the people in the area during the day and in the evening.
The Fairmont Hotel also has their Gingerbread House up. This is one of my favorites this time of the year. We are not going to do a Christmas Afternoon Tea this year.
Another tradition we love to do is see The Christmas Carol, which is an annual production of the American Conservatory Theatre (A.C.T.).
I took this picture very late at night after the rain.
This Christmas Tree is the brightest and I've been told the tallest in the city. The Holiday Tree can be found on California St. near Kearny St. Mijo and I went to check it out during its lighting ceremony which happened a week after Friday After Thanksgiving.
St. Francis has their annual tradition of Giant Cake on display at the hotel lobby.
Here's the giant tree at Pier 39.
Here the scene at Ghirardelli Square. Don't forget to try their delicious hot chocolate drinks.
The San Francisco Center is festive too. Here is the scene under The Dome.
Here's the scene at the Neiman Marcus store and Macy's Santa Lane.
Here's the display at The Palace Hotel.
There was a group of kids playing Christmas carols in front of the San Francisco Symphony building.
Here's the view at the San Francisco Cityhall.
Here's the scene at the War Memorial Opera House, home of The San Francisco Ballet. Don't forget to see The Nutcracker.
Here's the view while walking on Market St.
Here's the holiday display at The Mark Hopkings Hotel.
Here's the scene around Embarcadero. The ice skating rink was crowded when I took photos.
Here's the giant snowman at the California Academy of Science.
Here's the solemn scene at The Grace Cathedral. I always enjoy hearing their Boys and Men's choir and orchestra.
And in my neighborhood, my neighbors are also ready for the Holidays.
Here's Mijo looking for that perfect Christmas Tree for our house.
Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays everyone!
