Whenever we are in the neighborhood, we always try to drop by Caffe Trieste hoping that it won't be too crowded.
We walked by it after our tasty dinner at Sotto Mare and we found an available table and decided to stay. It is one of our favorite cafes in North Beach.
After our wonderful dinner at Sotto Mare, we started craving for coffee to wash down the savory seafood taste of cioppino. We decided to walk to Caffe Trieste to check out the scene. It was late in the evening and we had just waited for almost an hour at Sotto Mare and we didn't want to wait again for coffee.
Thankfully, there were available tables inside. As if the mood during the day isn't relaxed enough, the scene is definitely even more relaxed at night. Someone was playing and singing soothing flamenco music inside. Mijo ordered a decaf latte while I decided to get a small Americano.
The sight of this mural is never tiring. This scene instantly made me feel like I was somewhere in Italy.
I've been to Caffe Trieste many times during the day and it is interesting that I hardly noticed this wall during those visits. If it is not the large crowd, there is live music inside the cafe and these are probably the reasons why I never really focused on this wall.
We paired our coffees with alfajores and pecan pie.
Mijo and I were in the neighborhood during the North Beach Festival in 2017 and I just want to share this picture of Caffe Trieste from the outside.
We've also enjoyed a bag of their Italian roast coffee some years back. Very good and very strong coffee.
We truly love this place! Caffe Trieste's flagship cafe is located on Vallejo and Grant Sts. in San Francisco's North Beach neighborhood.
