Everyday Wine in the City - Kendall Jackson Grand Reserve 2009 Cabernet Sauvignon

Kendall Jackson Grand Reserve - 2009 Cabernet Sauvignon Sonoma CountyA week before we left for our vacation in the Philippines and Indonesia, we opened a bottle we got from our last wine tasting trip to Kendall-Jackson.

We paired the bottle of cab with cheeses from Cow Girl Creamery and pizza and pasta from Goat Hill Pizza. The pairings went really well.

Mijo's sister, Claudia, came by the house and brought two soft cheeses from Cow Girl Creamery. One of the cheeses was St. Pat Nettle wrapped and the other one was Red Hawk washed rind. The latter has a sharper taste compared to the former but both are good cheeses.

We were finishing another wine that evening, a Sangiovese by Griffone. Aside from the cheeses, we also paired the Cabernet Sauvignon with dolmas, cured meats and crostinis by Rustic Bakery.

We finished the bottle the next day and we paired the remaining wine with a meatball pasta and a medium sourdough pizza from Goat Hill Pizza.

We knew we were going to love this reserved wine by Kendall-Jackson since we tasted it first at their Wine Center in Santa Rosa. The pairings also did a wonderful job that it complimented this great wine.

Here are my notes.
